Chopper Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Frequented California Beach
A chopper flying near a popular California shoreline abruptly began spiraling out of control, eventually descending rapidly and plunging into a row of palm trees as onlookers watched.
Footage posted online capture the helicopter starting to spin over the shoreline then descending near the border of the shore, where it ends up lodged among palm trees and a staircase near the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders said five people were transported to a medical facility including two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the accident on the weekend.
Three persons on the street were harmed. Information on their condition were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
Planned Function
Officials said the aircraft was associated with an yearly “Cars and Copters” charity gathering set for the next day.
